02.26.2003 Monday 24th of February saw
the long awaited release of "Move Your Feet" in the UK. And the band
seem to get a lot of attention right now. The single is "Single of the
Week" in NME, and there is a big feature in The Face. Besides that MYF
recently peaked at no. 1 on both the Up Front Club Chart (the official
UK club chart) and the Pre-Release Airplay Top 20. The crunchy tune is
in hotter-than-hell rotation on radio stations all over UK, including
the big'uns such as Radio 1, XFM and Kiss 100 FM - and the track is
currently the 10th most played song on British radio! This week also
includes performances and interviews at the Graham Norton show (Channel
4), Jo Whiley's Live Lounge (Radio 1)(see some cool pictures from this
session here), and XFM's Zoe Ball session. Not to forget features in this month's Face, Gay Times, Attitude and Q.
The reviews are not bad either: Called "Possibly 2003's first perfect pop single" with a 10 out of 10 rating at dotmusic.com(don't say 10 what, but hopefully not punches on the head), ratet 5 out of 5 at breaksworld.com ("Put this on and watch the ladies flock around you!"), and a 4 star review of the album, D-D-Don't Don't Stop The Beat, at allmusic.com and
In
the US, David Fricke, editor of US magazine Rolling Stone, gives the
band thumbs up in the recent issue of the magazine. "The songs are all
about motion ("Go Junior, Go Senior," "Rhythm Bandits," "Shake Your
Coconuts"), and they all deliver. The dead-ringer-Michael Jackson aria
in "Move Your Feet" is really Thomas Troelsen of the Danish band
Superheroes. It's so good, Jacko will wish he'd been there.". Read it
