The Submarine Sessions - Sweet tunes from the bottom of the sea...

by Jessi-Q 30. October 2009 09:53

The fine under water project, The Submarine Sessions, made by the online cultural- and art magazine Third Ear, has a really cool line-up of artists performing a song in a submarine. With only one mic, one camera and just that one-take, the bands give a very intimate lo-fi performance spiced up with under the sea/submarine sound effects. Crunchy Frog contributes with two artists: Lars and The Hands of Light and PowerSolo. Other artists performing are Baby Woodrose, The Raveonettes, The Rumour Said Fire, When Saints Go Machine, Nikolaj Nørlund, Cody and Oh Land. Watch Lars ATHOL play a version of 'Me Me Me' that'll give you the chills below. Next week you'll be able to see PowerSolo cut loose, when their piece will be uploaded.

Snake & Jet's go to China!

by Jessi-Q 5. August 2009 11:29

The word is out around the globe about the astonishing Snake and Jet’s Amazing Bullit Band. Not only is the renowned LA based radio show “Morning Becomes Electric” on KCRW playing tracks from the group’s second album, PEACE BOAT on a daily basis, but the album has also been well received on music blogs all over the world - which was also the case with the first album. In Denmark the band has toured with Beta Satan, Swedish band bob hund as well as on its own. At the CPH Distortion Festival the band got to play at an unconventional venue, namely a submarine in the harbour of Copenhagen. PEACE BOAT will be released is Germany in early September, but first up is an invitation to play in Beijing. Today Snake and Jet are digging through to the other side of the globe to play two Chinese shows at the end of the week. The main event is the InMusic Festival but the band will also do a warm up club gig at Mao Livehouse. Not many Danish bands have toured China and it’s due to a massive effort and hard work by especially the Danish China expert, Martin Røen that we can make this happen. In fact it has worked out so well that the band is returning to China in October to play more concerts. What can we say? Lucky bastards…

The streets come alive - CPH Distortion take over the city!

by Jessi-Q 28. May 2009 13:06

I thought I'd spread the word about the incredible street and club festival, CPH Distortion which takes place next week all over Copenhagen. From June 3-7 there will be raves, art projects, block- and club parties with lotsa DJs and bands. In other words: Copenhagen is THE place to hang out if you want to be dancing in the street! Just to name a few of the bands: Wildbirds & Peacedrums, Messer Chups (crazy surf/garage from Russia, who has toured with Heavy Trash), Je m'appelle Mads, The Good The Bad, Troels Abrahamsen, Filur, When Saints Go Machine, Electro Juice, and sooo many more. This year we contribute to the fest with our own party kings - who else but Snake and Jet's Amazing Bullit Band. They will play at Distortion Dinner/1-Minute-Rave party at the water front under Knippelsbro on Saturday June 6th between 4-22 pm. The LA radio station VIVA radio will deliver DJs and you can buy dinner tickets for just 100 DKK. There will be a submarine, opening of the Knippelsbro-bridge, crazy rave AT the bridge for 1 minute.... Does this sound like a thing you shouldn't miss?? For more details check either:
