We have collected a bit of documentation from the fabulous concert(s) at Roskilde Festival by Shiny Darkly. Indeed the spirit was high among the boys in the band as well as the audience. Let these fine links speak for itself!

Hot new photographer and video director, Jonas Bang was on the spot with his camera and here's the concert seen through his lens.

Thee Attacks record Album no. 2 in Toe Rag, London

by Jessi-Q 3. February 2012 14:48

Once again the young gentlemen from Thee Attacks have brought their gear and high spirits to London's legendary, analogue Toe Rag Studios, where they will record their second album. Yet again with studio owner, Liam Watson as producer. As you all know, Watson is the Grammy winning producer of White Stripes' album, 'Elephant' and he has done beautiful albums with artists like The Kills, Holly Golightly, The Datsuns, Supergrass and many others. We are all looking forward to the outcome of his involvement with the project this time. This time round the ambition is to update their sound and make it a bit more in your face, simply try and capture their manically driven powerhouse rock 'n' roll live energy and give it to us in our very own living room! - Well, thank you, yes please!

Yesterday the band gave us a super tiny sneak peek from the first drum recordings in the studio on their facebook site, check it out here

Bring beef, tequila and condoms! - The Palin files.

by Jessi-Q 21. June 2011 11:37

Gag of the month!
As you may have heard, all email correspondance from US darling Sarah Palin's days as governor of Alaska has been released to the public! Good reading! Going through all this, it's unavoidable not to stumble across some weird approaches for Miss Palin. One of many is actually an invitation to a BBQ from Jeppe Senior's (and former Wolfkin) LA manager, Alexis Riviera, who runs the label Echo Park Records. Whenever he sends out his invitations, he always make up an email address in the "to" line of invitees, for everyone to see. And then keep all the real email addresses BCC. So he did this with Sarah Palin, guessing what her email would be. What he didn't know was that it in fact WAS her real email address!!! "BBQ at my house! Strange Boys are playing! So tip the kids and bring beef, tequila and condoms!" - I bet Palin must have been tempted!! Funny detail is that Alexis is now getting good sponsor offers from condom and tequila companies!! Not too shabby!!

The Submarine Sessions - Sweet tunes from the bottom of the sea...

by Jessi-Q 30. October 2009 09:53

The fine under water project, The Submarine Sessions, made by the online cultural- and art magazine Third Ear, has a really cool line-up of artists performing a song in a submarine. With only one mic, one camera and just that one-take, the bands give a very intimate lo-fi performance spiced up with under the sea/submarine sound effects. Crunchy Frog contributes with two artists: Lars and The Hands of Light and PowerSolo. Other artists performing are Baby Woodrose, The Raveonettes, The Rumour Said Fire, When Saints Go Machine, Nikolaj Nørlund, Cody and Oh Land. Watch Lars ATHOL play a version of 'Me Me Me' that'll give you the chills below. Next week you'll be able to see PowerSolo cut loose, when their piece will be uploaded.
