HAVE A TASTE OF THE NEW TREMOLO BEER GUT ALBUM

by Yebo 21. September 2011 14:50

It has been a loooong ass time coming. "Under the Covers With..." is set for release on October 10th in Scandinavia and on November 18th in Germany, Austria, Suisse, Benelux and UK. The band has been braggin about it for over a year... but only now did they get their scheisse together and make it happen.

The 17 fine selections comprising "Under the Covers With…" were recorded between 1998 and 2011 by The Tremolo Beer Gut. Some for inclusion on TBG albums, some for the infamous Bad Afro vinyl club single "While Squaresville Is Watching From Afar…" later released on CD on "From the Vinyl Archives of…", others for compilations and quite a few as alternatives to so-called "remixes" for other artists and therefore only available on non-TBG releases. Until now. Finally all the undercover work of The Tremolo Beer Gut is compiled for your sonic education and listening pleasure.

As an added bonus this record album includes 5 as of yet unreleased covers. And one of these is now offered as a free giveaway mp3 from the band's website. So surf right over there (surf! - see what we did there?) and hit the "LOW DOWNS" button to get the downloads - and do NOT forget to sign up for their always wisecracking hilarious newsletter on the front page. The song offered is the TBG version of "Every Minute Alone" by Danish WhoMadeWho. Fun fact: WhoMadeWho covered a TBG song for the Crunchy 15 year anniversary compilation and actually TBG stole one of the original riffs from that version and used it on their cover of WMW. Confused? Well, then our job here is done.

Rock'n'roll and comics = chicken and bacon

by Ramogens 28. February 2011 09:24

About a month ago Heavy Trash did a string of shows in France and Spain. They brought PowerSolo (including the old time drum boy Jens Benz) along for the ride and anyone who've seen that combo know it's cool like a mofo:

As far as we can tell from reviews and picture reports the crowds were once again blown away by the force of Jon Spencer and Matt Verta-Ray. This clip from a festival in Angouleme shows how rock'n'roll and comics actually do go hand in hand like chicken and bacon.

And it seems like the party didn't stop after the show. We'll give a free hug (ok, two free hugs) to anybody who can explain what'sgoing on here:

POWERSOLO. BUZZ HUMAN. SOON!

by andreas 12. January 2011 13:05

The wait is almost over! PowerSolo will release their fifth studio album, BUZZ HUMAN, on february 14th. You can sneak a peek at the be-masked glory that is the cover art (above) and click onwards to PowerSolo's website to listen to the album's aptly titled song-poem-hybrid opener, Powersolo, here.

But that is not all... To celebrate the birth of BUZZ HUMAN, PowerSolo have planned a release party at Bakken (Flæsketorvet 19 - 21, Copenhagen V) on the 10th of february with free drinks and a live set from the band. So note that down on your ”free beer” facebook page and come on down. See you there!
