Lars and the Hands of Light & Paris - une histoire d'amour

by Ramogens 2. November 2010 13:45

The debutalbum from Lars and those people with the extremely glowy hands - "The Looking Glass" came out in France October 25th this year on the well renowned label Platinum Records and the single 'Me Me Me' is spinning on leading national radio stations such as France Inter, Oui FM, Le Mouv, Virgin, Radio Nova and Europe 1.

LatHoL has just returned from a succesful promotion tour in Paris where they did interviews, showcases and four live performances at some of the above mentioned radiostations.

The band brought a video cam and this video is a monument to their triumph in the country of the baguette lovers.

LatHoL is going to celebrate with an European tour (second time this year!) in December where they are visiting Germany, Benelux, Portugal and France where LatHoL are confirmed for the two important festivals Transmusicales and Generiq. This fall also includes an albumrelease in India (holy cow!). See you all out there!

Lars plays Comic Strip for cartoon legend Jean Giraud / Moebius!

by Yebo 25. October 2010 10:14

n the recent promo tour to Paris Lars and some of the hands of light played an accoustic session at national radio Le Mouve. As a special bonus the guest on the show was none other than Jean "Moebius" Giraud, who turned out to be a fan. On a radio session at Europe 1 two days before Giraud was also present and praised the band on the air. Giraud is of course behind the "Blueberry" series and has under the Moebies moniker done amazing work in the fantasy genre, for instance l'Incal, The silver surfer and much more. Also as a writer and especially as conceptual artist and designer for films he has excelled. Some of his credits include Alien, Willow, The Abyss, The Fifth Element etc.

After having played their hit song "Me Me Me", the band - very á propos - did a version of Serge Gainsbourg's "Comic Strip" - to the amusement of the maestro and the show host.

The song was also performed the night before at oui.fm - a nicer version on account of the exellent melodica work of bassman Jeppe!
